- TUNES section: Take the "A" Train - memorize the head and practice weaving your way through the changes with arpeggios.
- EXERCISES section: Jazz Styles vol. 2 in 9 keys
Exercises-
Full-range major scales in eighths, triplets, and sixteenths @ quarter = 80 (or 60? or 50?): C, F, and G AND chromatic bit in the palm keys from D up to F# and back down to D.

Below are several recordings of Embraceable You all in the same key that Charlie Parker plays it (F concert = D for alto). Learn the head, the lyrics, and also get to work on the Charlie Parker solos:
-Flute and Clarinet Materials-
Flute:
-small aperture hole = tiny "p" under pressure (blow with the inside, wet part of lips)
-must keep lips parallel with embouchure hole (mirror)
- points of contact: shelf = base of left pointer stabilizes flute against lip
