-about NOT starting over with new skills, but at the same time being willing to fill in the cracks

-"folk" music means simple and accessible by everyone; however this music can also be extremely complex and sophisticated; how awesome though, that it still remains INCLUSIVE (kashaka definition: "simple" percussion insttument)

RHYTHM is the most important part of most/all of the music that we play: it's what will keep an ensemble hanging together; it's what is most appealling to listeners
